We’ve played a vital role in the development of new writing in the north west for the past 3 years in association with Commonword.
Our Writers’ Lab programme is designed to help participants create a monologue or piece of theatre, over 3 months. We meet participants once a week from September through to November, on Tuesday evenings or Saturdays. Workshops cover a wide range of topics and are led by Cheryl Martin with a number of guest artists involved over the programme. We take writers through a three draft process with one-to-one dramaturgy support and at the end of the process writers take part in the Black Gold Arts Festival
Writers who have completed the programme include: Claire Hynes, Ruby Ann Patterson, Jamie Lee, Nasima Begum, Fereshte Mozaffari, Christina Fonthes, Seni Seneviratne, Lucy Sheen, Mez Ndukwe and many more.
