Do you have a story you want to create using digital platforms?
A practical digital workshop where poet and live artist Maya Chowdhry will introduce transmedia* storytelling and outline some simple tools and techniques that can be used to create a transmedia piece.
You will then make a simple digital storyboard, choose a selection of platforms, e.g. Instagram, audio, poster, and create a prototype transmedia piece.
Come to the workshop with an idea of a story you want to tell across multiple platforms real and digital. The story can be fiction, fact or faction.

The workshops will take place on Zoom Black Gold Arts recommend booking for both workshop dates, as you will be creating a project across both dates.
- The workshops are for black, brown, and East Asian people.
- Beginners are welcome.
- Workshops will take place via Zoom.

ABOUT MAYA CHOWDHRY
Maya Chowdhry is a live artist, poet and theatre-maker. She draws from creating work in radio, poetry, installations, video and online. Her current work includes transmedia storytelling, digital poetry and augmented reality artworks. She was shortlisted for the 2014 New Media Writing Prize for her co-created work ‘Tales from the Towpath’. In 2015 she presented her invisible theatre and transmedia piece ‘Ethical People Movement’ as part of ‘Continent Chop Chop’ a touring production by the Virtual Migrants artist collective. Maya has led many digital workshops, working with youth groups, LGBTQ+ groups and Asian womens’ groups – empowering artists to understand digital tools that can enhance their practice.
