Christian Asare presents A Black Gold Arts Homemakers commission Pointillism in Process Pointillism is a technique of neo-impressionist painting using tiny dots of various pure colours, which become blended in the viewer’s eye. It was developed by Seurat with the aim of producing a greater degree of luminosity and brilliance of colour.
Artist Christian Asare invites you to two fun interactive workshop where you can learn and develop new techniques in oil painting and art techniques as Christian passes on some of his hints and tips to help create your own masterpieces.
Sat 13 June – 3pm Pointillism in Process; An Introduction Christian Asare leads an interactive Art workshop where you can learn and develop new techniques in oil painting and explore new ways to create on canvas.
Sun 14 June – 3pm Pointillism in Process: Dimensions, Dust, Dreams and Light This second intermediate Art class by Christian Asare will allow you to develop the skills you have learnt, with the hints and tips to help create your own masterpieces.
Workshops will be delivered via zoom and will last approximately 60mins. The sessions are designed as interactive sessions where you can paint/draw along but you can also watch and apply the techniques at a later date.
This workshop forms part of Christian’s Homemakers project ‘Afrocentricity in Focus: Dancing with HeART’ where Christian will be creating diptych of members of the Manchester QTIPOC group House of Noir, highlighting their collective contributions to the enrichment of the LGBTQ+ community in Manchester.
The whole process will be documented across social media channels as Christian invites you to share the development and progress of the paintings as they evolve from blank canvas to finished paintings.
About Christian Asare Christian Asare is a black British Multidisciplinary Artist of Ghanaian heritage based in Manchester; A trained choreographer and contemporary dancer with a specialisation in afro-contemporary dance, he is also an independent fine artist, painting in oils with a focus on uplifting afrocentric imagery, afro-futurism, portraiture and abstraction. @xtianasare on Instagram
